Guidance for management of outdoor learning, off-site visits and LOTC

School journey organisers will be very familiar with the HASPEV guidance, which historically provided detailed information on good practice during outdoor learning, off site visits and learning outside the classroom. In July 2011 this document was withdrawn and replaced with a short summary of health and safety law, relating both to school generally and school visits. This document lacks some of the detailed good practice that was contained in the HASPEV and to fill this gap the Outdoor Education Advisers Panel have produced a web based resource for schools to use to guide their own policy and guidance documents. It has information for all persons involved in school journeys, including headteachers, EVCs, visit leaders and governors. It is well worth a look and can be found at www.oeapeg.info
